Virus that can steal your bank details

Many people  are falling victim to this virus  via booby-trapped websites that exploit vulnerabilities in Microsoft’s browser to install the attack code.

This virus is dangerous because it hides  itself  inside Windows system files to avoid detection.

this is a type of virus known as a rootkit and it tries to overwrite part of the computer’s hard drive called the Master Boot Record (MBR).  This is where athe computer will look when it is switched to see what operating system it will be running.

The Virus which is called Mebroot uses its hidden position on the MBR to re-install associated programs if they are deleted by anti-virus software.  Although the password-stealing programs that Mebroot installs can be found by security software, few commercial anti-virus packages currently detect its presence and Mebroot cannot be removed while a computer is running.

Computers running Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows 2000 that are not fully patched can be vulnerable to the virus.
